Pasco High vs. Hermiston High

Pasco+High+vs.+Hermiston+High

October 22,2021 was a cold and cloudy night, but that didn’t stop Pasco high from playing against Hermiston high at an away game at Hermiston high school stadium. Cheerleaders, families, friends and students were cheering for their school in hope their school wins.

Our Pasco High football team were ready and confident about the game. At the beginning of the game everything was very calm, and Pasco high scored first with 7 points, but Hermiston high caught up quickly and a couple minutes later they had already 7 points as well.

By second quarter, Pasco high supporters were cheering and supporting our players chanting “Let go Pasco let’s go!” *stomp* *stomp* *stomp*” Pasco high supporters started getting angry at the Pasco high coaches telling them that they need a new plan. By the end of the 2nd quarter Pasco had 14 points and Hermiston had 35 points.

Pasco had 20 points and Hermiston 42 points towards the beginning of the third quarter. The coaches then got together and changed the plan, it helped Pasco catch up to Hermiston. Parents started noticing that the timekeeper was not stopping the timer on time, usually 10-15 seconds late and parents were not happy and the score keeper was slacking on giving Pasco its points. But the third quarter ended with Pasco 28 points and Hermiston 42 points

Fourth quarter, Pasco started with 28 points and Hermiston 56 points. All Pasco high parents and supporters agreed that the referees, timekeeper and score keeper were slacking and not being fair. Timekeeper went from slacking a couple seconds and then to minutes. And Pasco supporters were angry and demanded to get our lost minutes back. The game ended with Pasco 36 points and Hermiston 63 points.

After the game a very supportive parent had something to say, “the reefing was outrageous and horrid but were still going to playoffs, as we should.” Parents didn’t seem satisfied with the referees but proud to go to the playoffs.

Coach Emerson had something to say too, “I’ll just be honest, we came out flat, defense and lead came out flat gave up a lot of easy points early on and unable to come back and get back in the game but just kept giving up touchdowns. One of our worst games. We still got one more regular season game with Chiawana and then we will play a playoff game probably up in Spokane.”
