Tri-Cities Country Mercantile

Tri-Cities Country Mercantile

The country mercantile is a family-owned and operated business since 1996, located on the side of the 395 Highway in Pasco. The Mercantile started off as a small produce stand that would sell seasonal products, throughout the years it gained attention from people traveling in and out of town, locals, people around town, even news outlets! The mercantile was doing good and booming fast when they expanded their products, in 2002 they tripled the size of the Pasco Mercantile and in 2015 they opened their new store in South Richland which has been gaining attention from regulars and people passing by.

Country Mercantile has always been popular for their great products, the most popular being their produce. They offer a large variety of apples from small apples like pink lady apples, gala apples or like their big famous honey crisp apples, fuji apples, and cosmic crisp apples. They also have other seasonal fruits and veggies like asparagus, corn, blueberries, raspberries, watermelon and so much more, not only are they popular for their great produce but they’re also know  for having the best chocolate in town. Many people stop by specifically for chocolates, there’s an endless selection of chocolate items like truffles, chocolate bark, caramel, and chocolate apples. My favorite part of the store is that you can see the homemade chocolates being made, they have a window that gives an inside look into the chocolate factory. During the holiday seasons they have special chocolate boxes that are decorated to the holiday, “it’s a very good gift idea for the people who have sweet tooth’s”- one of Country Mercantiles Regulars.

Country Mercantile has many more things in store down to gourmet, famous homemade salsa and enchiladas, their own gelato and ice cream…there is just so much to name! The only negative side about this store is that it’s a little more expensive than you imagine, the chocolate is weighed by pound so it can add up. Although it’s out of one’s comfort zone for spending it’s definitely worth the trip, I recommend going in on a hungry stomach so you can try their famous sandwiches, wraps, enchiladas, and tamales; a lot of customers would recommend the French dip or the BBQ brisket those are the mercantile best sandwiches.

Another wonderful thing about Country Mercantile is that during the fall season they open their annual harvest fest right outside their Pasco store! During this time, they have lots of games, fun rides, pumpkins, pumpkin patch and lots of food to try while you are there. The harvest fest is only open for October, so it gets busy fast, and it lasts all day, the only downside of this store; it’s usually filled with customers. They have other seasonal events like the spring harvest fest that they just started doing in 2021, Country mercantile has many things to offer and continues to add more items to their store. Many people will recommend Country mercantile for any reason even if it’s for a simple treat, or a thoughtful gift but whatever it is this is a great place to visit.
