Prom is coming up, which means there’s going to be people getting asked with posters, balloons, flowers etc.

I think that this is really cute and fun to watch and see peoples reaction. Although some people may not like prom or proposals, I don’t see how they don’t like them. I asked three people what they thought about prom proposal.

The people I asked wanted to stay anonymous. The first person said that that they like prom proposals because they are going to be one of the core memories you will  be thinking about because its a special moment in your life.

The second person said that “it could be a cute experience.”

The third person said the same thing the last person said.

So we can all just agree that prom proposals are so cute!

Fun fact, it is unknown of where the first ever prom proposal took place. The first newspaper to cover it was in Dallas Texas in 2001. After a while the next prom proposal doesn’t show up on anything until one year later in 2002. Then it wasn’t till 2007 – 2011, when prom proposal went viral. Two years later people started to ask celebrities. Yes, celebrities! Sometimes, they would attend people’s prom.

For example, there has been a viral video going around about Kylie Jenner going to prom with a student named Albert Ochoa, who was bullied. I think its a very iconic and heartwarming thing to do.

Another celebrity who went was Tupac, who attended prom with a student named Kia Chanelle. Chanelle wrote his fan club asking if the rapper would be her date. A month later, Tupac showed up at her house! All you really need to do is just ask if they want to go to prom, very simple! If they reject you, its okay, you can ask someone else or go with friends! Maybe even go by your self.

Overall, prom is just something that I think everyone should love and go to no matter what. Just experience what it’s like to go with your class mates and enjoy the last year or two of high school. You just might regret it.
