There hasn’t been a whisper of when the next Spirit Week is happening, or is it just me? If there are plans, I think they should start the spirit week this week, the week before Halloween. During that Spirit Week, the school should allow students to be able to dress in the costumes that they have planned to wear. But would the school allow that to happen? With new rules being applied since the start of this school year there have been more restrictions, making this unknown.
“That would be dope,” says Eian Guevara, a current senior at Pasco High and a News Tracker for the Wasco website.
“It’d be fun.” says Emil Frostlund, who is also a part of the Wasco Website.
“As long as people care enough to participate.” is Mr. Lambs’ opinion on the Costume Spirit Week.
Suppose we got to have a Costume Spirit Week the week before Halloween. I think that would be exciting for students here at Pasco High. Being able to dress in a costume at school would be a thrill. Let’s say it was allowed, how would the themes be divided each day from Monday to Friday?
“Something like superheroes, villains, famous actors/actresses, something like horror scary, I love sports, so sports starters.” said Mr. Lamb, passing out ideas.
“Spooky theme.” says Eian Guevara.
“It would be hard for everybody to bust out a costume every day.” Says Emil Frostlund.
The concerns about having it last for a full week are common. Having to wear five different costumes related to the weekday theme could be difficult for those who don’t have the costumes or resources. Having it last for a week is a bit complex. Five days with five different costumes might be too much. What if the school shortened it down to a day? Maybe one school day students and teachers could dress up in a costume. Would students prefer that more than a Spirit Week theme? And if so, what would you dress as?
“Halloween costumes–I chose out this year.” Eian Guevara
“Maybe something from a horror movie like Jason Vorhees or Michael Myers, something like that.” Emil Frostlund
“Something like Tom Brady or Michael Jordan.” said Mr. Lamb
Instead of wearing costumes each day, we could do the ordinary spirit week themes until Friday, which would be Costume Day. Students could wear their costumes on the last day of the week just like Homecoming Spirit Week. That spirit week was doing the ordinary and fun themes. It could be the same here for Halloween Spirit Week! It would have the fun and regular Spirit Week themes until Friday and then students could wear their costumes.
Is a Costume Spirit Week in the talks of happening? And if so, would you participate with everybody else?
