While some of us are interested in particular genres, many of us enjoy watching movies and TV shows of all kinds. There are moments when we run out of content to watch. If this happens to you, I’ve put together a list of movies and TV series for binge-watching.
Chucky series (season 1)
Genre: horror comedy, slasher, drama 
So far, every year on October there’s a new season of this series. The first season came out on October 2021, season 2 on October 2022 and as for the current year, 2023, the first half of season 3 is out. There were eight Chucky movies prior to the series. I completely agree that the first season of the show is the favorite among fans. The storyline is one of a kind.
In the first season of “Chucky,” Jake, a teen, buys a doll for his new sculpture at a Yard Sale. He is unaware that Chucky the doll is a possessed real-life serial killer. In order to build an army of dolls, Chucky must persuade one of the teenagers to commit a murder and so Jake and his friends become targets. To that end, he attempts to manipulate them and provide reason for killing.
The Black Phone
Genre: horror, mystery, thriller
This movie was released in theaters on the summer of 2022, June 24. Opinions were shared on social media, Positive things were said, and a lot of people enjoyed this movie including me. The Black Phone has a surprising plot twist that makes the movie suspenseful to watch unfold.
A 13-year-old named Finney is abducted by “the grabber” who disguises his identity with an eerie mask. “The grabber” has previously taken boys hostage, hiding them in his basement after the kidnapping. As Finney attempts to flee the basement, he makes contact with the previous kidnapped boys through a black phone. In the meantime, Finney’s sister is working nonstop to find him.
The Purge Anarchy
Genre: Horror/action 
This 2014 horror film is the second purge movie to hit theaters. Released on July 18, it is a follow-up to the 2013 Purge. There is a lot of tension and action in this film. Observing what individuals will do to survive is interesting.
The government lets people commit any kind of crime, even murder, for one night a year without fear of consequences or jail time. Leo Barnes uses this opportunity to find his son’s murder and get revenge. On the way, he encounters two young women whom he saves, and they stick together to try and make it through the night.
Alice In Borderland
Genre: survival, thriller, science fiction
Despite being a Japanese drama, this one is highly well-liked and entertaining. The first season was released on December 10, 2020. The games are imaginative, and the plot is original and surprisingly fascinating. There are currently two seasons of Alice in Borderland on Netflix, and a third was just recently renewed.
While the vast majority of the population vanished, Arisu and his two closest friends are left wondering what happened. They eventually find themselves fighting for their lives as they participate in dangerous games and come across other survivors. They learn that they must compete in games to live, if they don’t, they will be eliminated. Arisu tries his best to overcome the games while also helping his friends.
All Of Us Are Dead
Genre: horror fiction 
This is a Korean drama that has grabbed a lot of people’s attention, it’s compelling to see how individuals handle situations. This drama sets a good realistic representation of an outbreak, and watching students turn into zombies is jaw-dropping. This drama premiered on Netflix on January 28, 2022.
A zombie outbreak occurs at a high school endangering the lives of both teachers and students. Numerous students turn into zombies after getting bitten by an infected person. Together, the students must face tragedies, grieve for loved ones, survive, and attempt to run away from the apocalypse to a safe place.
Escape Room
Genre: horror/sci-fi
Escape Room was released on January 4, 2019. Not too long after the first one, in 2021, Escape Room: Tournament of Champions was released as a sequel. This film is pleasant to watch. Both the escape rooms itself and the action given are great. The characters’ willingness and ability to survive are demonstrated.
Six strangers of all ages are given an invitation to try the Minos Escape Room for a chance to win a $10,000 prize. Everyone seems interested and willing to participate. They soon discover that these rooms have some sort of connection to their past and that it is not a coincidence. These rooms were purposely designed for each individual and they must find a way to escape the rooms before it’s too late.
The Maze Runner
Genre: Sc-fi/adventure 
The Maze Runner is a film trilogy, a suitable dystopian film for younger audiences. All three movies are very well-made. Originally these movies were in books first. Both the books and movies are beloved by many. The first Maze Runner movie came out on September 19, 2014. The breathtaking plot with its thrilling twists is just as captivating as the characters and the scenery in the films.
After losing all memory, Thomas awakens in an enormous maze and meets a group of boys. His reason for being there is unclear to him, but nobody remembers the outside world when they first entered the maze. With the intention of making their getaway, they plot to exit the deadly maze. Thomas makes an effort to guide his team and make the impossible happen.
