Question 1: For how long have you worked at Pasco High?
I’ve had the privilege of working at Pasco High for 5 years, I started in 2019.
Question 2: What do you do here at Pasco High?
I support migrant students and their families with any school-related stuff.
Question 3: How was your college experience?
I enjoyed all my college years and experiences. It was a time to grow, and get to know who I was and who I wanted to be as an adult. I cherished all my experiences from CBC, WSU Tri-Cities, and EWU. I first attended CBC where I focused on Early Childhood Education with the plan on becoming an elementary teacher; however, that switched when I attended WSU Tri-Cities where I earned my bachelor’s in social sciences with a minor in psychology. After my Bachelor’s degree, I attended EWU where I earned a Master of Social Work and Public Administration.
Question 4: What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced while working at Pasco High?
Getting to know staff and collaborating with them to ensure students come first.
Question 5: What high school did you attend and why did you go to school?
I graduated from PHS class of ’99, it has physically changed, however, many of the positives and things to improve are still present.
Question 6: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Golfing, swimming, vacationing.
Question 7: What is your favorite song and movie?
When I was younger I liked gangster rap, but most recently find myself listening to Banda, Corridos Belicos, sprinkled in with some Carin Leon. My favorite movie is Hard, I’m a movie buff (ps I just asked students if they knew what it meant – and they did not) – my favorite movie series is Marvel.
Question 8: What are your plans in the upcoming 5 years?
I see myself continuing to work here at PHS supporting Migrant Students; however, I have also started to take some courses to work towards my administrative credential, Wherever that takes me I plan to continue to support and serve students and their families.
Question 9: Why did you choose to work here at Pasco High?
I attended PHS a decade or two ago, and still remember some of the teachers and staff who helped me get through I wanted to give back to the PHS community
Question 10: What makes a ‘good day’ at school?
Getting to learn from the incredible students I have the privilege of working with.
