Construction is underway for Kennewick, Washington’s first Chick-fil-A, located in the Hobby Lobby parking lot. The restaurant will open this year in 2025. The project, which is nearing completion, will include 70 indoor seats, a two-lane drive-thru, and almost 100 parking spaces. The total investment exceeds $1.1 million.
Dawn Hodges, who operates other Chick-fil-A locations in the Tri-cities, will own and operate this new restaurant. Chick-fil-A recognized the significant potential of the Tri-Cities market, which is driven by local demand. A 2023 Tri-City Herald poll ranked Chick-fil-A third among desired businesses in the region.
The restaurant’s location on W. Canal Drive is convenient, near Wendy’s, Hobby Lobby, and Wok King Buffet. The Tri-cities community is highly anticipating this opening, as the nearest Chick-fil-A is currently in Spokane.
Everyone is thrilled about Chick-fil-A’s opening, including high school students. One Sophomore stated, “The chicken nuggets are just so scrumdiddlyumptious, especially their signature Chick-fil-A sauce!”
Students are excited about the opening of Chick-fil-A, driven by strong demand in the community. Many are looking for diverse dining options, and Chick-fil-A’s reputation for quality food makes it a highly anticipated addition. The planned grand opening event will feature giveaways and special promotions, heightening the excitement.
