This year, our varsity and Junior Varsity went on an outstanding record, going 13-4, only losing to AC Davis High (1-2), Chiawana (1-0), and Richland (1-0). Our Junior Varsity went on an outstanding record, only losing three games this whole season and one in conference, which is amazing also, only losing to Eastmond High School (2-0), Chiawana (2-1), and Richland in conference (1-0). Our Junior Varsity only tied against AC Davis High (1-1).
On the last game of our soccer team’s away game on May 2nd. We interviewed some of the senior soccer players and a couple of junior players from both teams and talked about their experience with this team and what made this team as good as it was during the last couple of years of playing with this team. Some of the soccer players we talked to are Jahsen Hafla and Damian Marinez, as well as some other senior players in both the varsity and junior varsity teams.
The questions we ask two of our senior players (Jahsen Hafla and Damian Martinez) are “How was your four-year playing with this soccer team, and what was your best experience while playing with this team for four years?).
We first talked to Jahsen Hafla about these two questions, and at first, he was thinking for a while. Still, after a while of thinking, Jahsen told us “It was the best years I had, met some good people and some of the best experiences I had during this four years are the good memories playing with friends, winning games after games against better teams than us, making good relationships/friendships with upcoming players from different schools or other places away from here, and also developing good game sense and communication with our teammates on the field and outside the field.
Next, we interviewed Damian Martinez and asked the same questions as Jahsen. Damian was also thinking about what to say to these questions but finally found some answers. Damian also told us, “My three years playing were good. I was on the C team my first year and then Junior Varsity my last two years. My experiences while playing are that we were always winning, and we were always the best. Pasco Soccer is the best team I’ve ever played for and the best forever.
When we finished interviewing these two Senior players, we went straight to interview a Junior player, Luis Cabrera, who plays as a goalkeeper for our Junior Varsity soccer team, so we can know about your experience playing soccer and what you can do to improve for next year.
When we interviewed Luis about this question (what was your experience playing soccer right now for the school?), he told us, “It was good, saved a lot of shots, and not a lot of shots were shot towards him, making a lot of good relationships with new players. The next question we asked him was about what he can improve for next year. Luis said, “Coming outside the box more often to get the ball quicker.
So, these are the players we interviewed this year to learn about their four years and their best experiences during their high school years playing for this school. They had some excellent answers that they could’ve told us, and let’s hope next year’s Varsity and Junior Varsity soccer teams can dominate like they always have.
Let’s Go Dogs!!!
