How long have you worked at Pasco High?  

This is my fourth year at PHS 

How long have you been a mechanic, and why did you pick autos? 

So traditional, I wasn’t ever a mechanic, but I did work in a lot of industries where mechanics were part of it. My hobbies is to work on cars especially old cars so i was already a teacher i was teaching math and science at Ochoa so when the job opened up to teach mechanics i figured I’m a teacher. I like working on cars so I’m going to see if i can get this mechanics job and it worked out for me so now i get to teach what I’m passionate in my hobby.  

What’s your favorite part of being an auto teacher?  

Getting kids to have “ ah ha “ moments is what i call them there moments where people learn so kids can go and say they can do that to and what they learned, how to change tires those are my best parts learning what i like to do is a hobbies and what i consider basics and kids learning those things and saying “i can do that” and possibly turning that into a career or just something they can say they’ve learned  

What is your favorite out-of-school activity? 

I like to barbecue a lot, hang out with my car club buddies, go cruising, and, in the summertime, hang out by the pool a lot. I also like to go golfing and just hang out with my kids.  

What are three facts about yourself?  

I practice what I preach. 

I like to help everybody, but also not when they take advantage of me.  

I’m not only a teacher, but I’m a wrestling coach as well.

What are your favorite music genres? 

My favorite music genres are old classic Latino music from the 60s and Chicano radio stations. I also like 90s rap, oldies, heavy metal, and some specific artists, such as Tupac, Wu-Tang, Dr.Dre, Pink Floyd, and the Beatles.  

What advice would you give to your students?  

Do your best to learn what some teachers teach. You might not find any use for it right now, but if it’s important enough and teachers tell you it’s important, learn it to the best of your ability; it will come back. 

What’s your dream vacation 

 My dream vacation would be to go to northern Spain, visit the town of Murgia, where my family originally came from, and do some research on family history.
