Ever since the trend of Senior Assassin exploded on TikTok, many seniors have wondered if their schools would offer the opportunity to participate. Pasco High implemented the game this year, and current seniors are participating. We want to gather students’ thoughts on the school’s decision to introduce this game.
I interviewed a former student who participated in Senior Assassin. When asked for her opinion on the game, she said, “It was a nice, fun way to connect with other seniors.” When I asked if she participated in the game, she answered, “Yes.” I then inquired whether she thought it was a good idea to implement it in our school, to which she replied, “Yes, because it’s a good way for people to go outside, and it’s also a great way to become more active.”
When asked if she believes the game would encourage school pride, she stated, “Yes, because students will see it as more of a school activity, which will increase its popularity and encourage more students to want to play.” I asked if she thought parents would agree with the game, and she responded, “Some years yes, and some years no. Some parents may view it as a fun activity outside of school, while others might see it as a bad influence on younger kids.” Finally, when asked about her opinion on the prize for the game winner, she suggested, “Definitely the money we all put in to participate; the winner takes all, along with a gift card to any place they want.”
The last person I interviewed was a current junior at Pasco High, who is not eligible to participate in the game. When I asked for his opinion on Senior Assassin, he said, “It seems fun. It looks like a good way to be active and connect with friends.” I asked if he would participate if he could, and he replied, “Most definitely.”
I then asked if he thought it was a good idea to implement the game at our school. He responded, “Yes, of course! It gives us students something to do and raises the overall activity level at the school—something to look forward to for the lower grades.” When I asked if he believed this would encourage school pride, he said, “Yeah, definitely! It gives us something to practice for and get ready for.”
I also asked whether he thought parents would agree with the game, and he replied, “I feel like some will and some won’t. It all depends on whether the parents are willing to understand the game or if they’re okay with it.” Lastly, when I asked what he thinks the prize for the game should be, he suggested, “In my opinion, cash and some snacks.”
