Summer is just around the corner, and everyone has their own favorite activities planned! If you’re unsure about what to do this summer, you’re in luck. I interviewed some PHS students and teachers to gather ideas for your summer plans. Here are some suggestions to consider!
Personally, I enjoy outdoor adventures with friends or family, such as hiking, camping, and swimming. I also like sunbathing and stargazing. Others might prefer social events like BBQs, concerts, or festivals, along with playing sports. Summer road trips are also great for exploring new places and creating lasting memories.
Now, let’s hear from some PHS students and teachers about their favorite summer activities:
Gregorio Garza (Sophomore):
*Are you excited for summer?* “Yes! There’s no school to worry about, and I might get a job at Zumiez.”
*What is your favorite summer activity?* “Fishing and skateboarding because I love being outside instead of cooped up at home. I enjoy the thrill of catching a fish; I can spend five hours just fishing.”
*Do you have any goals for summer?* “I hope to save enough money to fix my car with my dad.”
Ms. Lambert (Teacher):
*Are you excited for summer?* “Yes, I’m looking forward to not working, going to the beach with friends, kayaking, and working on my house.”
*What is your favorite summer activity?* “Part of me wants to say sleeping, but I have to go with napping in my hammock.”

Ms. Leduc (English Teacher):

*What is your favorite summer activity?* “Traveling with my husband is my favorite because I love to explore and learn new things. I also enjoy going to baseball games; my favorite team is the Mariners.”

Mr. Kelley (English Teacher):

Jose Alvarado:
*Are you excited for summer?* “Yes! I’m excited because I won’t have to wake up at the crack of dawn anymore, unless I get a job, of course.”
*What is your favorite summer activity?* “Some of my favorite summer activities include camping on the weekends with family, going to the river, and just being at home.”
*Do you have any goals for summer?* “My goal is to spend more time outside; I spent a lot of last summer indoors.”
