Have you failed English, History 1 & 2, or Geometry? If so, you might be feeling stressed since next year is your last chance to catch up. Don’t worry! You can attend the Gear Up Summer Credit Retrieval program at Pasco High from June 16 to June 27 to recover some of your credits. This summer program lasts for two weeks and is available only to juniors.
By attending both sessions, you can earn up to two full credits, or you can earn 0.5 credits for English and 1 credit for History in the morning session, or 0.5 credits for Geometry in the afternoon. If you only need a credit for a specific session (morning or afternoon), you are welcome to leave after your session ends or arrive just in time for your designated session. Attendance every day is mandatory.
The schedule for the program is as follows:
– **8:00 AM to 8:30 AM**: Breakfast served in the cafeteria
– **8:30 AM to 11:00 AM**: Focus on English and History
– **11:30 AM to 12:00 PM**: Lunch served in the cafeteria
– **12:00 PM to 3:00 PM**: Focus on Geometry
Please note that there will be no program on June 19th.
Support staff will be available during the program, including teachers such as Mrs. Alcala, Ms. Rachinska, Ms. Gallacher, Miss Dunn, and Ms. Hill, as well as the Gear Up team: Mrs. Howard, Mr. Moore, Ms. Maria, Ms. Audrie, Ms. Yisel, and Ms. Izzy.
You might wonder how students will earn credits in just two weeks. During this time, students must complete a long-term project. While it will not be graded, students must demonstrate improved knowledge and complete their project by the end of the program.
Students need to bring:
– A laptop
– A laptop charger
All other necessary supplies will be provided. Please note that transportation is not offered, so be sure to arrange a ride; however, transit is free for all students during the summer.
Students are expected to attend every day with a positive attitude and adhere to all Pasco High rules to ensure everyone’s safety.
