I decided to ask students about their food preferences and what they like, but I also asked what their favorite foods are at PHS.
(Here were the questions asked)
1. Q: What is your favorite restaurant and/or fast food place?
STUDENT 1: “My favorite restaurant is probably BJ’s in Seattle.”
STUDENT 2: “My favorite restaurant is Mi Lindo Nayarit, it’s Mexican food and it’s really good.”
STUDENT 3: “La Chapala.”
STUDENT 4: “My favorite fast food place is Burger King.”
STUDENT 5: “My favorite place is a buffet called Wok King. I love it.”
2. Q: What is your favorite menu item?
STUDENT 1: “The buffalo wings or pazzoki (pizza cookie with ice cream).”
STUDENT 2: “Fajitas de pollo (fajitas with chicken) with a plate of salad, rice, and chicken.”
STUDENT 3: “My favorite thing on the menu is enchiladas.”
STUDENT 4: “I like almost everything on the menu.”
STUDENT 5: “I think the noodles, I’m a little picky with certain foods, but the noodles are really good.”
3. Q: What is your least favorite menu item?
STUDENT 1: “The fried Mac and cheese because it’s creamy and crunchy and gets soggy too fast.”
STUDENT 2: “Carne Asada, it’s like you are biting into a piece of rock.”
STUDENT 3: “Nothing because I like everything I get from there.”
STUDENT 4: “Probably the chicken fries, I don’t know why, but something about the texture throws me off.”
STUDENT 5: “I think the fruit, some of it is kind of bad.”
4. Q: What is one thing you would change about your favorite restaurant and/or fast food place?
STUDENT 1: “The main thing I’d change about the restaurant is the time it takes to get food because it shouldn’t take 30-40 minutes for my food.”
STUDENT 2: “The menu is so outdated. I think they need to make it nicer and add more pictures of the food.”
STUDENT 3: “I would not change a thing about the place.”
STUDENT 4: “Probably the time for my food to be ready, it always takes forever, and I’m always really hungry.”
STUDENT 5: “Maybe have cleaner tables.”
5. Q: How often do you go to this place?
STUDENT 1: “Every time I go to Seattle, it’s close to where I stay.”
STUDENT 2: “When’s someone’s birthday or my grandma comes over since that’s one of her favorite restaurants.”
STUDENT 3: “Every other Saturday.”
STUDENT 4: “I go almost every day for lunch or after school with my family or friends.”
STUDENT 5: “My family and I go almost every weekend or for someone’s birthday.”

1.Q: What is your favorite food served in PHS?
STUDENT 1: “My favorite food is probably the nachos, without the cheese though.”
STUDENT 2: “I think the pizza is pretty good, and I like how there’s a lot of pepperoni on it.”
STUDENT 3: “I really like the sandwiches that have fries, but sometimes the fries are either soggy or too hard, but other than that, they are really good.”
STUDENT 4: “I love it when they serve pozole; it’s so good that I could eat it every day.”
STUDENT 5: “My favorite is the pizza calzones. I wish they served them often.”
2. Q: What do you think should be added to the PHS cafeteria?
STUDENT 1: “I think they should serve some dessert options. They used to give out cups with strawberries, granola, and yogurt.”
STUDENT 2: “I think the food is great, and the number of options is also great. I don’t think there should be any changes.”
STUDENT 3: “I would appreciate it if they added more fruit options because I love fruit.”
STUDENT 4: “I don’t know if they already do this, but I would like it if they had more options for sauces, like barbecue, mustard, and stuff like that.”
STUDENT 5: “I would be so happy if the pizza calzones were served more often, like next to the pizzas.”
