Halloween time at Pasco High
It’s that time of the year when the witches and goblins come out, yes, that’s right, spooky season is here, and just around the corner, Halloween! So, with that coming soon, students are getting their costumes ready and seeing what is popular these days. And that’s why you’re here, to answer the questions about what kids around Pasco High are wearing this year, what’s popular, and their opinion on couple costumes.
Around this time of the year, you see lots of costume ideas on social media lots of those being couple costumes, when asked do you believe couple costumes have over this year Halloween, Pasco High students had mixed feelings about it some people said “Single is nice but couples is cooler because its meaningful and you and your partner have a good night pared up”, others said “it depends on the way they make it”, and other people say it’s better since you won’t be lonely. Still curious about the topic, I wondered what makes it a good couple’s costume? And what I heard was “it depends on how the couple makes it a good or bad costume”.
There are many possible things to do this Halloween around the Tri-Cities, such as visiting Middletons. If you’re in for a scare, you could see the haunted attractions. Don’t forget about going out and trick-or-treating. A good costume must come with some fun plans. So, I went around seeing what students are doing this year. Evan Mendoza says he’ll be going to a birthday party on Halloween night. Wendy Mercado says she’s not going trick-or-treating since it is getting cold, and Jessenie Ruesga says she’s going to be giving out candy this year. There are lots of things to do and lots of plans to be able to make, so make sure you have a sweater and be safe while out.
Each year, we have a song of the year, a movie of the year, but this year, we haven’t answered the question of what this year’s costume is. To search for this answer, I went asking, and the answers I received were the movie Wicked, the Netflix film K-pop Demon Hunter, and The Lorax from dr Seuss. Another question that was on my mind was when these costume ideas started getting popular, and what I heard was that once the movie started getting popular, and last year Lorax girls were popular, but they came back to popularity.
What about the students here at Pasco let’s see what they are wearing, Jessenie Ruesga says she’s only wearing face paint in a form of a skull due to the facts its simple and easy, Makana Garza says he’s going as a Balenciaga inspired runway fit since he wants to do something no one else has done, Evan Mendoza says this year he’s going as a Plumber since he relates to being a plumber, and Sergio Jimenez says he’s going to be an alien since he thought it was beautiful. Where have they been getting their costume? Most of the people had said that they got their costumes at Spirit Halloween, but another answer was just from a makeup pallet.
Just like that, we found the answers for what this year’s costumes and the runner-ups were: K-pop Demon Hunter, Lorax girls, and Wicked. When the two movies of K-pop demon hunter and wicked came out, people started cosplaying, which then started the costume idea, while the Lorax girls came back from last year. This Halloween, landing on a Friday is going to be spooky, so get those costumes ready and have a scary Halloween.
