In this review, I tasted four popular energy drinks and ranked them based on their taste, caffeine amount, price, and how effective they were. The first drink I reviewed was Alani. I bought the 12-oz can, which contains 200 milligrams of caffeine, 0 grams of sugar, and 10 calories. I tried the cotton candy flavor and rated the taste a 10/10. I expected it to be overly sweet, but instead it had more of a fruit flavor. It also cost me $2.99$. I rate its effectiveness an 8/10. I rate it an 8 because it made me energized for around 2 hours and didn’t make me tired afterwards. Overall, I rate Alani drinks a 9/10 because of their taste.
The second drink I reviewed was a Red Bull drink. I bought a 12-oz can, which contains 114 milligrams of caffeine, 37 grams of sugar, and 160 calories. I tried the coconut berry flavor and rated the taste a 10/10. I really liked the coconut flavor blended with blueberries. The Red Bull cost me 2.88$. I rated its effectiveness a 6/10. I rated it a 6 because it gave me a bit of energy, then gave me a headache and made me feel tired. Overall, I rate Red Bull Energy drinks an 8/10 because I like the tast,e but not how I feel after.
The third drink I reviewed was a Monster Energy Drink; the 12-oz can contains 120 milligrams of caffeine, 41 grams of sugar, and 170 calories. I tried the original flavor and rated it a 3/10. It tasted too sweet for me, and I just didn’t like the flavor overall. The Monster cost me 2.48$. I rate its effectiveness a 4/10. I didn’t feel energized at all, but it also didn’t make me tired. Overall, I would rate Monster energy drinks a 4/10 because I didn’t like the taste and didn’t make me feel energized.
The last drink I reviewed was a sugar-free Red Bull, a 12-oz can contains 114 milligrams of caffeine, 0g of sugar, and 20 calories. I tried the Blueberry flavor and rated the taste an 8/10. I expected it to taste different since it has no sugar, but it tasted very similar to the original Blueberry Red Bull. This drink cost me 2.45$. I rate its effectiveness a 6/10. I rated it a 6 because it made me feel energized for a while, and I liked the taste. Overall, I would rate sugar-free Red Bull a 7/10. From these four drinks, I think the Alani and sugar-free Red Bull drinks are better for a healthier alternative, but I would consider the regular Coconut Berry Red Bull the best option.
