Annaih is an 18-year-old Pasco High School senior, graduating in June. She is known for her dance skills and great leadership, but some people wonder what will she do after high school. For example would she go straight to working, or will she go to college?
Annaih Cardenas is planning to travel across Washington state and explore different cities trying new foods after she graduates. She enrolled at Pasco High her sophomore year.
“My mom is an alumnus of the Pasco dance team. She signed me up to try it out and I stuck to it all three years because of the people I met along the way,” she said. “It definitely was the highlight of my high school career.”
She says her mom is her biggest inspiration.
“My mom’s my biggest inspiration because of how resilient, strong, and supportive she is. When things get difficult, she was always there to support and lift me up. I don’t think I would’ve made it through school or dance without her,” Annaih shared. “She has inspired me to be the best version of myself.”
Annaih will be attending Eastern Washington to get a bachelor’s degree in biology while also looking towards working to earn money to put towards her college and applying for scholarships. Her current goal is to becoming an anesthesiologist and has more to look forward to.
“One of the things I’m looking forward to about Eastern Washington University is the dance team program,” she said, adding it is student-led and easy-going,
One of the things she struggled with in her senior year was finding help registering for college. She overcame this with help from Mrs. Whitemarsh.
“She reached out and helped guide me through the process which helped me a lot,” she said.
Annaih also struggled with her attendance this year.
“Another thing I struggled with was my attendance. I found it more convenient to do the work at home and teach myself class material in a way that made sense to me.”
