Here at Pasco High School, we think it is important to have self-care. Self-care can range from Physical well-being to Mental Health. But today, we will be talking about Physical health. Healthy ideas to be eating, how much water you should be taking. etc.

Food You Should Be Eating:

  • Vegetables
  • Whole Grains
  • Fruits
  • Healthy Protein
  • Healthy Oils (Olive and canola oils for cooking or on salads)
  • 3 Meals (350 – 600 Calories Each)
  • 1 – 3 snacks a day
  • Fish
  • Berries
  • Soy
  • Organic Yogurt

A Healthy Diet is essential for Good health and Nutrition, it protects you from many Chronic diseases, like Heart Disease, Diabetes, and Cancer.

The food you should Avoid eating: 

  • Foods with added sugar (cookies, cake, ice cream, candy)
  • Foods with added salts (Chips, Pretzels, Bread, Crackers, Canned Soups) High in Sodium
  • Refined with Carbohydrates ( White Bread, White Rice, French Fries, Crackers, Sugary Breakfast Cereals)
  • Processed Meats (Cold Cuts, Hot Dogs, Sausage, Bacon, Beef Jerky)

Toxic foods for your body: 

  • Apple Seeds
  • Elderberries
  • Green Potatoes
  • Raw Kidney Beans
  • Bitter Almonds

Foods Good For Skin Health:

  • Strawberries (Rich in Skin Health-Promoting substances, such as Vitamin C, Anthocyanins, Phenolic Acids, and Flavonoids)
  • Blood Oranges (High in Vitamin C, Which is essential for collagen production & protects skin cells against UV damage)
  • Broccoli (High in Vitamins A, C, D, E, makes it a lower risk of developing skin cancer )

Things you add to your skincare routine: 

  • Ice your face (ice can reduce inflammation)
  • Sunscreen
  • Eye Cream
  • Old banana peel ( it across your face can naturally exfoliate and get rid of wrinkles)
  • apple cider vinegar is a great toner for your skin; it evens the skin tone and brightens it. don’t use it if you have super sensitive skin)
  • if you suffer from Blackheads around your nose. take an egg crack it and rub the egg yolk around your nose to REDUCE blackheads.

  • Rice Water
  • VITAMINS.
  • Aloe Vera
  • Castor Oil
  • Scalp Massagers
  • Rosemary

Cranberry Juice & Pineapple Juice:

  • May Prevent Urinary Tract Infections.

Now you know some great tips to help take care of your mind and your body. Being a teenager can be super hard. So can being in high school, possibly having an after-school job, taking care of siblings, or playing a sport. So throughout whatever your busy schedule is, take some time out of your day (even if it is just for five minutes) and take care of yourself.
