Last Friday was a very important day for seniors here at PHS, as it was the date of the FINAL senior class meeting they will ever be having. It had a lot of important information there, information you don’t want to forget. This will go over all the information revealed there and expand a bit on them so that you won’t end up being lost and confused when any dates that were mentioned in the meeting arrive.
- We have some more specific info about seat picking for graduation, which is also the day you have to turn in the contract for both the seating and if you plan on getting one, the heritage regalia. Dates are May 28th-31st, and both June 3rd and 4th, and will be either from 7:00-7:30 AM, or after school at 2:45, and will be at the auditorium entrance. There will be no saving, moving, or changing seats allowed. You will not be allowed to pick a seat if you are failing any classes/credit recoveries, graduation pathway, or have not completed any specific classes or the senior exit survey.
- On June 5th at 6:00 PM is the senior party at the Fairchild Cinema near Walmart. Entry to the party is completely free. Food will also be available for free, and you will be able to watch up to 2 movies there, though it was not specified what movies would be showing.
- June 6th at 8:00 AM is the grad walk and the final day for seniors. You will need a permission slip to be able to participate in the grad walk, if you don’t have one, you will just have to be in class. Yearbooks will also be passed out on this date.
- June 7th is the day of the graduation practice, as well as the moving-up assembly. 7:30 AM is breakfast at the football stadium and will end at 8:30, which is when the actual practice will start. Afterward at 11:35 AM, the moving-up assembly will occur, and finally, at 12:40 PM, the senior celebrations will be finished
- June 8th is graduation day, and you will be expected to arrive at exactly 4:00 PM and be fully prepared for inspection. At 5:35 PM seniors will walk to the stadium, and at 6:00 PM graduation will officially start and will end at around 7:00 PM, though people will not be required to leave the stadium until 8:00 PM.
- June 10th-14th are the days you will turn in anything you have, like laptops or sports equipment, as well as pay any fines you might have if you haven’t already. June 14th is also the day you will pick up your diploma, and it will go in order of last name, with last names starting with A-M being from 8:00 in the morning to 11:00, and N-Z being from noon to 3:00.
And that is all the info that was told at the senior meeting. That is a lot to take in, so make sure you study this closely and pay attention to the dates these are at. You can also check for some of this information on the Minga app.
