Top 10 Favorite Memories At PHS
1. Freshmen Day- August 2022, before the actual first day, freshmen always get a day before the rest of the grades. This day was memorable because I saw my friends, and we were all nervous about high school over the summer. I remember how excited we were realizing we could leave for lunch; I definitely took advantage of that. We ended up getting tacos every day and walking to 7/11, which is now a “food market”. Also, I met new people that I still talk to today.
2. First Football Game- My first game in freshman year (Pasco vs Kennewick High) was at the Kennewick stadium. I was excited because I was always told by family members to go enjoy those. My friend and I didn’t take the game seriously because we didn’t understand football, but hanging with/seeing my friends made it 10 times fun, and the student section was loud and fun. I knew I wanted to go to more games.
3. First homecoming – October 5th, 2022, PHS had homecoming at the school cafeteria. It was small and awkward at first, but I knew from the beginning that I wanted to go to all homecomings. I wore a basic black dress. I took a lot of pictures of my friends and me; we tried to dance. I’m glad I went regardless, even if it was awkward. I am happy that they changed the place of homecoming to the Moore Mansion and the Reach.
4. Taking fashion marketing- I remember this was my favorite class in my freshman year; I was super into it. During that time, I loved fashion trends, and I loved the projects, for example, making my own shirt. Some projects were hard, not going to lie, but still, Mrs. Schinder is teaching this.
5. Sophomore homecoming- September 26th, 2023, this time it was at the mansion; I was excited to go, I’ve only seen the mansion passing the blue bridge. I never really thought you could rent it out. I wore a lavender dress. I would say out of all my homecomings, this was the funniest one because I went with a bigger group of my friends, the crowd was more fun and lit. If only it hadn’t ended early because someone had gotten hurt. After we went to get tacos at a taco truck.
6. Junior Prom- When I first found out about prom, I thought it was for all grades, but it wasn’t. Two dances in one school year were pretty exciting. When I got over to the mansion, it wasn’t as full as homecoming (obviously), but the neon orange dress that I wore was my favorite dress out of all of them. I felt like I stood out.
7. First last day- this day will be memorable because I got my car on the first day of school, I saw my friends, and we were talking about how it’s finally our time to be seniors, and we were kind of upset. Also, I made new friends in class on the first day.
8. Senior Sunrise- it was a bittersweet moment. We were the 6th graders when COVID hit and school got shut down for months, realizing time goes by fast, looking forward to the senior sunset with my friends.
9. Sage View vs Pasco, September 12th. I was really looking forward to this game because SageView is a brand-new school, the theme was purple, my friends and I dressed up, and we used purple face paint to do little designs on our faces. It was a stressful game; Pasco ended up winning “The battle of the bone.” It was a good way to end a Friday night; I was actually surprised.
10. Senior Homecoming- October 4th, 2025, it was at the Reach in Kennewick. My best friend and I both planned to wear red. I kind of prefer the mansion because it’s not so far from PHS, but something new for my senior year was really nice; it’s sad knowing I only have prom now.
