a look of what trunk or treat is

It’s October, which means fall is here. And with fall, something spooky comes along with it. Can you guess what it is? If you guessed that it was Halloween, you would be correct! And as Halloween approaches, the Deca students and staff at Pasco High School have prepared a spooky surprise for the community. Today, October 26th, in the PHS student parking lot, there will be an event called Trunk or Treat where the trunks of many cars will be adorned with spooky decorations. The fire department is going to participate in this year’s Trunk or Treat and Ms. Trevino tells us that the trunk or treat has been going on for more than 10 years. Some teachers are working with Deca to get more school departments to participate in this year’s event. When we interviewed Ms. Schneider about how the Trunk or Treat began, she told us that this event began because of a program called “Thrive.” Deca has to organize events for the community in order for this program to give them a spot for nationals, and this caused the Trunk or Treat to be born. She also says that all different school clubs are going to be participating in this year’s event and PHS is inviting families from the surrounding elementary schools to participate in the Trunk or Treat as well.
