Yearbook club

The club that has started

We’ve all had that long cohort session that talked about clubs, sports, and more after-school activities. Normally people think of the main clubs such as the outdoor club, LGBTQ club, art club and more. Although, have you ever really heard of yearbook club? Let me tell you about it. Yearbook club is an extension of the yearbook class. It is the ASB version of the class and it gives students who are not in the class the opportunity to do class things like taking photos, fundraising, voting, etc. It gives non-class students the opportunity to be in the class. Yearbook club takes place in room 136b during E/I time on Wednesdays. Yearbook club is always held during this time because its an available day and it makes it easier for students who can’t do after school activities.

When you walk into the room, you will see our yearbook teacher and club advisor Susanna Vidrio. You will also see our staff: Bradley lemon the editor in chief, Lola Roth the Co-editor in chief, Zarai Lopez our copy editor, Kory Foster our photo editor, Paige Stron our secretary, Hailey Erbenich our treasurer, and Miguel Villanueva our marketing editor. These people put in the work to make the yearbook club stay active and in order, they use their dedication and skills to keep the work going and also to help people. They will spend time to help themselves, their teammates, students, or even new-comers. The yearbook club meetings are always in Ms. Vidrio’s classroom, however, you can most likely always find a yearbook staff anywhere, whether it’s outside, in the halls, or even in your own classes. Yearbook club has always been around and it’s meant for the ASB portion which means it’s for all money, fundraisers, votes, etc. The club helps the staff keep track of any events–past, present or future. Normally when students show up in yearbook club, every single student will get straight to work on things from computer work to posters, papers, etc. Sometimes students do not know what needs to be done, but that’s what the staff is for. They help you keep track of what you have done and what you need to do. The yearbook club gives students the opportunity to be a yearbook student while not being a yearbook student. They receive the same expectations as an actual student and they get around the same participation level as any other yearbook student. The yearbook club staff is made up of students who work fully on the book and attend the actual class. They help teach students how to edit, take photos, etc. They also work with Ms. Vidrio to help students who want to learn about yearbook. The staff, alongside Ms. Vidrion, can teach multiple students at once and still have the time to help themselves and each other with any task. Do you remember all those club names? Maybe you should remember yearbook club, because they want you to join! They want to teach you new things and new levels of things you didn’t know.
