End your trimester strong

End+your+trimester+strong

The end of the trimester is about here. Are you passing your classes or are you struggling? If you are struggling to end this trimester with passing grades, here are some tips that might help you get your grades up and pass your classes for this first trimester of the school year.

You may be so stressed you might not even know where to start. It may be helpful to take it class by class. You should go to PowerSchool and click on just one of your classes. Look at your grade and then take a look at your assignments. Once you see all your assignments, take notice of your missing assignments and upcoming assignments. You can make a list of all the assignments you need to accomplish and write them in order from most points to least, for example, the assignments that affect your grade the most be sure to get those done to raise your grade more effectively.

Also, choose a time to start on your work and stick to it. For example, it can be as soon as you get home or after practice. It would help if you tried to eliminate your distractions, so that way you can give your schoolwork your best and not be worried about who may be texting you. You can try and put your phone in a different location to not tempt yourself with that distraction. Perhaps you can set a goal for yourself, for example, you can set the goal to get two math assignments done and then the reward will be to have a break to do whatever you choose for a certain amount of time, you should be sure to set times and stick to them, that way you can be structured and organized and this will help you to be more successful while getting your assignment done.

So what if you do not know how to complete your assignments? You can ask a friend in your classes and they could possibly help teach you the work you are not sure how to complete. If you can not seem to get help from a friend you can talk to your teacher and I’m sure they would be happy to help you, but you don’t want to procrastinate any longer, ask for their help as soon as you can, that way they aren’t annoyed with you waiting so last minute. They would probably be happier to help if they know the effort and hard work you are willing to put in, so get on it and ask your teachers for the help you need. Teachers are busy though, so maybe you could benefit from getting a personal tutor.

While it is the end of the trimester we can reflect on the good and bad, and improve for the second trimester. Staying up on our assignments and keeping a willing attitude to work hard will help us have a successful trimester. At the end of the day, you can just do your best so be positive and work hard!
