The Alec Baldwin Incident

The+Alec+Baldwin+Incident

On October 21, 2021, two people on the movie set of “Rust” a 19th century western movie were shot by Alec Baldwin with a Prop gun that was accidentally loaded with a real bullet. Halyna Hutchins and Joel Souza were shot on set and unfortunately Ms. Hutchins died on her way to the hospital while Souza had an injury in his shoulder. Alec Baldwin was told that the gun was “cold” or not loaded with any live ammunition, so they filmed the scene where Baldwin shoots the gun, and the two cinematographers were shot. Before the accident with the firearm other employees on the set sated That they were not allowed to stay near the set, so they had to drive at least 50 miles to get to the set. That then caused many crew members to either complain or quit but the higher up would just hire new nonunion workers to replace them.

Not only that that the work conditions were awful, but there were also three more incidents where a prop gun fired a round when it was not supposed to. This further proves that the people in charge of the set did not care in the slightest about the safety of their employees and only cared about cutting back costs and dodging lawsuits. To quote a video from the youtuber penguinz0/Moist critikal, “They didn’t care they were using like real guns it seems, it wasn’t like prop guns at that point they just went to the local gun store just bought actual guns and thought that it was okay”. The people running this movie only cared about getting this movie released as fast as possible purely for the profit not to entertain people, it was purely to make money. Another quote from penguinz is “this set was straight from a looney tunes cartoon with Yosemite Sam dual wielding pistols going ham.”

I would not be surprised if the family Of Hutchins decided to sue the people behind the movie for their negligence with prop weapons and the safety of their workers. The workers union is most likely not too happy with the producers with extreme lack of responsibility.
