Our skin is something that gives us confidence, and something a lot of people first look at when meeting you. Some of us have struggled with hormonal acne or any acne. I have been into skincare for 4 years and, to this day, I’m still discovering products. It’s a constant battle between me and my skin on a day-to-day basis. Acne can happen for many reasons, and I’m here to share how to get into skin care and the basic information.
Types of skin
When we go to a drug store or beauty store, it can be overwhelming having so many options to choose from. Let’s break it down: there are five skin types dry, oily, combination, and sensitive. To determine your skin type, if throughout your day your T zone is oily and the rest dry then you have combination skin, if your skin is flaky, tight, or dry then you have dry skin, if you have oily skin you should be able to tell with a napkin and holding it up to the light, if you have none of these then you have normal skin.
I have dry skin, so some of my recommendations are mainly for dry skin.
Routine
We first have to get into a routine of washing our face in the morning and night. These are called morning and night routines. Your skin care routine should never be the same as your nighttime routine.
A night skin care routine consists of focusing on repairing your skin while you sleep, so any products that claim to repair and nourish should be used at night. It consists of double cleansing with oil cleanser to remove makeup, or SPF it tends to protect your pores from clogging, next a Cleanser, exfoliating toner, hydrating toner, essences, serums, and moisturizer. Keep in mind, all products should be layered to the most liquid product to the thickest product.
A morning skin care routine consists of products focusing on protecting your skin in the morning. In the morning cleanse one time, use vitamin C it helps to protect your skin from sun, essence, hydrating toners, and hydrating serums, do not use exfoliating toners when using vitamin C in the long run will even out hyperpigmentation, use an SPF to protect your skin from UV rays and sun damage, to protect and repair your skin.
