Two years fulltime here at Pasco High and three years as a long-term sub, so five years total.

I started in business and a lot of what I did in the business field was training. My wife was a teacher and as soon as I made the connection that training is just teaching, I realized I could align my family goals and schedule by becoming a teacher.

The “aha” moments when students finally understand something I’ve been trying to teach them.

Thomas Edison’s quote about making a light bulb. (The quote: “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”)

No, I wanted to be an electrical engineer.
What’s some advice you’d give to the students at Pasco high?
Try as many of the CTE classes as you can while you’re at Pasco High, especially if you have ambitions to go into that career. So, if you want to be a mechanic try and get into auto shop to see if you like being a mechanic. If you want to go into robotics or technology, join robotics and CAD to see if you’re going to enjoy that after high school.

I did martial arts for 10 years.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Having to tell someone the same thing over and over again because they are choosing not to listen. Not to be confused with not understanding, I will re-explain if they don’t understand it. But it’s more of a behavioral thing where they’re just choosing not to do it.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?
Norway, because that’s where my family is from, I haven’t been able to go there yet.
