What made you become a teacher?
“I had wanted to be a teacher ever since I was younger. I had some teachers that I really liked in middle school that and, they were very motivational to me. And I thought that would be interesting career.”
What was your dream job as a kid?
“My first dream job was to be a doctor, and then I saw a space shuttle launch in Florida, and I wanted to be an astronaut. But then I realized that was not likely to happen. But in high school I was really interested in computers, and how they work. So, computer repair and network engineering was what I did.”
What do you think 2050 will be like?
“I think in 2050, most job industries will be impacted in some way by AI. But I don’t think it’s going to be things like flying cars and robots that are roaming around and doing lots of jobs for us.”
If you could say something to 20-year-old you, what would it be?
“Take your time to make your choices because it’s what you want and not because it’s the expectations of someone else. Sometimes, other people expect things of you, and they’re not things that you are ready for or ready to do your best in. And so, sometimes, you have to go on your own pace in order to get to the finish line.
If animals had a jobs what would be your pets job?
“I have 2 dogs, one that is 13 years old, and she would be very good as greeter at like Walmart or something or at some store just kind of standing there. My younger dog is a year in the half old and he would be great as delivery person because he loves playing fetch.”
If you can one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
“I would say tacos.”
If you could say something to 9-year-old you, what would it be?
“I would say don’t give up on your dreams just because you encounter challenges. Even if you face those challenges and one path is harder it doesn’t mean that you are not able to reach that goal eventually.
What’s one thing you want to accomplish?
“I’m currently working on getting my principal certification, and so, that’s my current goal is finishing up that that as the school year ends.”
What made you want to be an admin?
“So, when I started teaching, I didn’t think of myself as a potentially being an admin, but I had a few people who encouraged me and said that was something that they saw as a strength in me. I’ve always enjoyed leading people and finding goals and things that we can work on and improve. I really want to be able to help the school to be able to improve student learning and student success.”
If you can go to any country to the world, what would it be?
“I’ve never been to Europe and so if I had to pick one, I would say probably Italy. To see ancient Roman architecture and things like that.”
If you can say one thing to the entire world, what would it be?
“I could say one thing to the entire world, I would say remember that everybody is doing their best. Most of the time people are not trying to hurt or upset you. And that we need to have more understanding of other people and compassion for the things people do.”
