1. What inspired you to become a teacher?
I was inspired to become a teacher because I wanted to help students grow both academically and personally. I always admired teachers who made a positive impact on their students’ lives.
2. How long have you been teaching, and what do you enjoy most about it?
This is my first year teaching at Pasco High School, and so far my favorite part has been getting to know the students and seeing their different personalities every day.
3. What’s your favorite part about teaching at this school?
My favorite part about teaching at this school is the welcoming environment. The staff and students have made my first year a good experience.
4. What is the biggest challenge teachers face today?
One of the biggest challenges teachers face today is keeping students motivated while balancing everything teachers are responsible for that students don’t see.
5. What kind of student were you when you were in school?
When I was in school, I was a hardworking student, but I could also be pretty social and talkative at times.
6. What do you think makes a great student?
I think a great student is someone who puts in effort, stays respectful, and is willing to learn from mistakes.
7. What motivates you to keep teaching every year?
What motivates me to keep teaching is knowing that I can make a difference in students’ lives and help them succeed.
8. What is your favorite memory as a teacher?
One of my favorite memories so far has been seeing students become more confident and comfortable in class as the year went on.
9. How do you build relationships with your students?
I build relationships with students by listening to them, treating them with respect, and creating a classroom where everyone feels supported.
10. What advice would you give to students who are struggling in school?
My advice to students who are struggling in school is to ask questions, stay persistent, and remember that improvement takes time.
11. What do you enjoy doing outside of teaching?
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, creating art, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing with a good book whenever I can.
12. If you could change one thing about education, what would it be?
If I could change one thing about education, I would make learning more hands-on and connected to real-life situations so students can see how it applies outside the classroom.
