DoorDash job for Seniors

Want a job that pays well? And work whenever you want? Well, Doordash may be the job for you. Here’s what you will need to get started; A person will need their drivers-license, social security, proof of insurance. Then download the ‘Dasher’ app, make a new account, and fill out the form given. They will use the ID and social to do a background check, and if they find that your record is clean, you will become a Dasher.

Now that’s done. You will receive the Dasher activation kit. In it, there will be a Red Card and a Hot Bag. It will take a week to arrive, so make sure you buy your own Hot bag. The Red Card will give you more orders to deliver. You will also need to have a rating of at least 4.2 or higher to stay a Dasher. Next, let’s talk about how you get paid and how much. Your hourly pay depends on how many deliveries you’ve done, how much the customer tips, and if it’s busy at the time you are working. There are also peak pay campaigns; with peak pay, you may receive somewhere between $1 to $3 extra per delivery. You will also need to set aside some money for gas. The downside of being a Dasher is that you don’t get any health benefits, no 401k plan, and DoorDash doesn’t deduct tax from your pay, so you will have to pay taxes every year. But you do get 2% cashback for your gas and next day pay if you apply for Dasher Direct. Plus, you don’t pay tax on the tips you receive; dashers keep 100% of it.

Here is my experience with DoorDash and how I got started. I was returning from my road trip, and my mom remembered that her friends’ son is working for DoorDash and suggested applying for it. So while we were driving home, I got on my phone and started researching how DoorDashing works and what I needed to do for that job. After a few minutes of research, I decided to apply; it took me about 10 minutes to fill out all the information and less than an hour to get my background checked and approved. My first week on the job was a bit difficult; I accidentally forgot to deliver an item. Luckily, the person I delivered to didn’t bother reporting it. Now that I have been doing deliveries for a month, finding customers’ houses, and making sure I don’t miss items has been less complicated.
