Spike Squad

Spike+Squad

Have you heard of the all-new spirit club and hype crew of Pasco High? This year is the start of Spike Squad. They are the new face of the hype crew, attending events such as assemblies, sporting events, and starting tailgates before the games. During the spring of 2023, our ASB officers decided we needed a fresh start to our hype crew. You may recognize the former name of DogPound but they felt a re-brand and fresh start would be needed.
Mr. Lamb, ASB/Student Leadership advisor, is the one who took the time to take this on along with David Ochoa the president of Spike Squad, and Hannah Strycker the vice president of Spike Squad. When asked, “What are your overall expectations of Spike Squad? Long term and for this year, being it is the first year.” Mr. Lamb explained, “We were hoping for 50 dedicated/committed students to carry out the mission of Spike Club and support athletics and activities to the best of their ability and create a fun environment for them. We are currently at 75 members, and we are pushing a membership drive to get 100 members by Winter Sports Season.”

To join Spike Squad, it is only $10 per school year and most if not, all students are included in the general Spike Squad group on Minga, but once you pay the one-time fee of $10 you are officially a member of Spike Squad VIP where the rest of the information is announced. Once you join Spike Squad you get access to merch, fun spirit items at the tailgates, free food and drinks at the tailgates, and overall access to more things. Mr. Lamb explained this is why they decided to charge $10 to join, “The students researched T-shirt prices and what it would cost to supply spirit items for specific games/themes, etc..” They provided many new merchandise for the members and decided it was reasonable to have a $10 fee to help with the cost of supplying those items.
